2023 Virtual Theory Week Program!

We are delighted to let everyone know that we have the full program published for the 2023 Virtual Nursology Theory Week! Check it out … and if you have not yet registered, you can do so right up through the days of the conference! To keep things simple, there is one flat “affordable” registration fee, and if the fee is beyond your reach, you can apply for a sponsored registration here.

The entire conference will be on Zoom, and if you are registered, you can log in to any and all of the sessions! The general sessions and the knowledge sessions will be a webinar format, managed by our zoom guru Ray Harwood. During the webinar sessions, only the speakers will be on the screen, but discussion options will be lively and Ray can move participants to the screen to enhance the discussion experience. The popular “Daily Discussion” at the the end of every day will be the typical Zoom meeting format, with everyone on the screen, and the ability to virtually raise your hand to speak!

The three general sessions are:

The knowledge sessions are 30 minute sessions that will occur each day of the conference, followed by the daily discussion

Abstract Submissions now open until December 15th! AND – Registration is now open!

Academic semesters are winding down, papers are due, and the holidays are upon us!! So take a breath of relief if you are feeling stressed about getting your abstract submitted for the 2023 Virtual Nursology Theory Conference! By popular request, we have extended the deadline to December 15th! Take a few moments now to review the “Call for Abstracts” and make a plan to get your abstract composed and submitted – you now have another two weeks to get this done!

Registration is also now open! The registration fee is still one of the best bargains ever … just $179 for an informative and inspiring five day, virtual event held via Zoom with a mix of panel presentations, knowledge sessions, and poster presentations. You can register for yourself and at the same time sponsor someone else to be registered – a fabulous idea for a holiday gift for a friend or colleague!

2023 Virtual Nursology Theory Week – March 16-20!

Save the dates!! The 2023 event planning is underway! The program will follow the same model that we used in 2022 – and the call for abstracts will be coming along early in September! Your abstracts will become the 30-minute knowledge sessions throughout the conference.

The focus of the conference will be organized around the prolific theoretical ideas that emerged from the Los Angeles, California region in the early days of nursing theory development! Diane Breckenridge, PhD, MSN, RN, ANEF of Charles Drew University in Los Angeles is the conference organizer; she is pulling together representatives from several Los Angeles area Colleges and Universities with stellar histories related to the development of nursing knowledge, including UCLA, UC Irvine, and Azusa Pacific!

Here is a tentative rough outline to begin planning for this important conference –

Thursday March 16, 2023

  • 10 am to 11:30 am Eastern – opening plenary session.
  • Noon to 5 pm Eastern: 30-minute knowledge sessions (including breaks every 90 minutes).
  • 5 – 6 pm Eastern: Open Daily Discussion

Friday, March 17, 2023

  • 9 am to 4 pm Eastern: 30- minute knowledge sessions (including breaks every 90 minutes, with 30 minutes for lunch)
  • 4-5 pm Eastern: Open Daily Discussion

Saturday, March 18, 2023

  • 9 – 10:30 Eastern: Opening Panel organized by students and early-career nurse scholars, with a focus on the future of nursing knowledge development
  • 10:45 am – 2 pm Eastern: 30- minute knowledge sessions (including breaks every 90 minutes)
