Abstract submission form
Nursology.net is excited to invite you to submit abstracts for the forthcoming 2025 Virtual Nursing Theory Week. This year’s conference theme, Honoring Our Past and Moving Forward: Decolonizing Nursing Knowledge, reflects our commitment to embracing our history while forging a path toward a progressive and inclusive future in nursing. The inspiration of the conference theme is based on Iheduru-Anderson and Waite’s paper published in 2024 –
Iheduru-Anderson, Kechi, & Waite, Roberta. (2024). Decolonizing nursing education: Reflecting on Paulo Freire’s pedagogy of the oppressed. Nursing Outlook, 72(4). https://doi.org/10.1016/j.outlook.2024.102183
Please use this form to submit an abstract for the Virtual Nursing Theory Week to be held from March 20-24, 2025. Deadline for submission: December 1, 2024. Notification of status: December 31, 2024. Plan to include in your abstract a brief description of how your planned presentation aligns with the conference theme.
Each Knowledge Session podium presentation will be 30 minutes long; we recommend 20 minutes to present plus 10 minutes for questions and discussion. We will also have ongoing Knowledge Session Poster presentations during the five days of the conference.
Each Knowledge Session Poster will be 5 minutes long during which time the presenter will provide an overview of their topic. We recommend the overview to include a brief introduction of the topic, research questions, methodology, and quick summary of the findings. There will be several 5-minute slots with one presenter for each slot. After the poster overviews are completed, presenters will be moved to different Zoom Breakout Rooms to meet with attendees for questions and discussion. Once the Breakout Rooms are opened, attendees may select which room to visit to stay as long as they like, as well as hop over to another room if interested in more than one poster. For accepted Knowledge Session Posters, presenters will be offered an opportunity to record a pre-event video (2-3 minutes) about your topic to include a brief overview of your topic and findings. Presenters may conclude their video with an invitation to join you for more information on the topic at the VNTW event. This opportunity is optional and not required.
All presenters must register and attend the virtual event. If there are co-presenters, all presenters must register. Co-authors on a project, who will not be attending the VNTW, can be listed on the abstract and thanked in an acknowledgement, but they will not be listed as presenters on the conference program that is published in Guidebook. On this form, please only list co-presenters who will be registering for and attending the VNTW.
Note that you need to have all the information compiled before filling out this form; once you start filling out the information you need to complete and submit. It is not possible to save the form and return to it later to finish.
